Since 1930, Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania has provided reproductive health care of the highest quality. We are a non-profit organization that offers services and programs to meet the community's health care, advocacy and educational needs.

Our Mission:
  • to provide comprehensive reproductive and complimentary health care to those in need of these services.
  • to disseminate information about human sexuality and the need for family planning and responsible parenthood.
  • to advocate public policies which guarantee these rights and ensure access to such services.

PP/WHS has a history of providing safe and leagal abortions to women requesting the service since 1973. Formerly known as Women's Health Services, Inc., PP/WHS is committed to continuing a tradition of quality health care administered by a compassionate staff of doctors and nurses.

In addition to health care, Planned Parenthood offers educational and advocacy services. The education department provides community and school programs, professional training, workshops and information on a wide variety of topics.

Planned Parenthood advocates a woman's right to choose and takes an active role in ensuring the reproductive health care rights of women.
